America, Stop Shooting Yourself in the Head

America shot itself in the head when it denied education to the slaves and descendants of slaves. America shot itself in the head when it made it nearly impossible for Black children to receive a fully enriched education. Racism is Not Over. Today, America continues to shoot itself in the head when the educational system still discriminates by color and the workplace overlooks and ignores the talent inherent in its Black employees. You may get paid but the promotions are scarce and you end up training your boss. Yes, there have been many successful strides made in the battle against racial discrimination but we need more and soon…not the 100-year plan to be more inclusive. America does not have that kind of time anymore. It never has had unlimited time. Look at what is happening today…riots, mobs, crazy! What this Black woman , Dr. Jedidah Isler, endured to become an astrophysicist should not have happened in a country such as ours. The road to that kind of achievement is difficult enough but add in racial discrimination and try to walk a mile in her shoes or the shoes of any Black person trying to live their best life. Can it be done in spite of racial discrimination? Absolutely, we have many examples-living proof so no excuses for not doing everything in one’s power to live your best life. In America, yes, you can! But, America must stop shooting itself in the head over something such as racial discrimination. There is so much natural talent to be found in every person…why doesn’t America get smart and realize that its future depends upon educating and nurturing All of its children? Skin color is such a dumb reason to not acquire the best from all of our people. To America, Grow Your Own, to corporations, Grow Your Own. Yes, we need brain power from around the globe but come on, we must grow our own, First! And, to those who would use racial or any kind of discrimination as an excuse…Grow Yourself in spite of the barriers! Go to school and learn as if your life depended upon it because it Does.! We all may not become astrophysicists but find your own purpose, set your own goals and get busy. We all need to know how to do something that will provide the lifestyles we Choose to live. ###
